Murchison Falls

Wildlife, Big Game, Boat Trip | 4 Days, 3 Nights

From: US$1995, All Inclusive

Thunderous, explosive and completely spectacular, Murchison Falls is the world’s most powerful waterfall. Formed as the mighty Nile squeezes through a seven-metre gap in the Albertine Rift Escarpment, the body of roaring water is mind-blowing from all angles. You’ll take a boat to the base and watch the water crashing down as animals drink, apparently nonplussed on the banks, or hike to the top for the angel’s view. The park itself is Uganda’s oldest and largest conservation area and leopard, lion, buffalo and elephant can all be found as well as the elusive shoebill. You’ll also complete the big 5 animal list tick off when you visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

You will also view a variety of bird species. After your morning rive you will return for lunch. After lunch you will embark on a boat cruise to the base of the Murchison Falls. This will be one of the highlights of your safari where you will get up close to the animal within the water. You will cruise past huge hippo pods, crocodile, bathing buffalo, and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfalls. You will have an opportunity to take thousands of pictures, so carry your camera with you if you like. After the cruise you can take a hike to the top of the falls. Later in the evening you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
